St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School is a one form entry Voluntary Aided School with the capacity to house 210 pupils from Reception Class to Year 6. There are currently 186 pupils on roll (Autumn 2016).

St Brigid’s has its own Governing Body (established in September 2015) but has strong links with its sister school, St Albert’s, following a period of work led by the Hard Federated Governing Body of St Albert’s & St Brigid’s (2009 – 2015).

We are situated in Stockbridge Village, the Central Area of Knowsley. The school lies on the border between Knowsley and Liverpool. Current figures indicate that 55% of our pupils are Knowsley residents with the overwhelming majority of the remaining families living in Liverpool.

We do not have a nursery on site at the moment and receive pupils from up to 10 nurseries, including our parish nursery at St Albert’s.

The school runs ‘breakfast’ and ‘after-school’ clubs. We run a range of After School Activities which provide enrichment activities for pupils. We benefit from a sports coach, based in our SPACE for Sports & Arts building, who provides out of school hours activities for our pupils funded through Sports Premium. Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 have the opportunity to take part in a residential experience which allows them to challenge themselves and develop their personal attributes. All children are provided with opportunities to enrich their learning and experience through a wide range of trips and activities.

We are part of a Family Group of Schools known as ‘Purple’ family. This is made up of four local primary schools centred in and around Stockbridge Village. Membership of the group allows collaboration between schools, school to school support, challenge and development. Much of our work has centred around ‘developing community’ and we have benefitted from a number of outstanding events eg Choral Speaking for Y2 and Mass Participation Sports Event for all KS2 pupils with extension activities for EYFS and Y1.
