PLEASE be aware that our school was subject to an Ofsted Inspection on Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th March 2015 – full report available under the documents tab (Inspection Reports).
Dear Parents / Carers,
WELCOME BACK and what a lovely start our children have made. It was fantastic to be met by such smartly dressed, well prepared pupils on our yard for our first day back. Thank you all for your support in ensuring that our children have everything they need for school.
It is always a tentative time when the holidays draw to a close and the time comes to return to school but the door is opening on a brand new year and we will be encouraging our children to embrace new opportunities and make the most of their time in (and out of) school. Sometimes it is hard to take on a new challenge—whether that is: starting a new class, making new friends, attending an after school club for the first time, learning a new language or riding a bike—but if we believe in ourselves we can achieve great things. Ask your child what their hopes are for this coming year. What do they want to do / get better at / achieve? What doors do they need to open to have a successful year and how can you help them to do this? Be prepared though…they may ask you what you are planning to do/achieve this year!
‘Ask and it shall be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.’
With best wishes for a fantastic 2015.

A wonderful time was had by all those who left school for a couple of days to visit Winmarleigh Hall. Our children, as always, behaved impeccably and represented themselves, their families and our school beautifully. Mr Riley, Ms Barker and Mrs Pickett reported that the children did brilliantly making sure that they had a go at all the activities – even the scary ones!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the pupils (and parents/carers) of our Reception Class. The children have settled in beautifully, are learning lots and making new friends. As you can see we have a number of budding artists, authors and engineers. I wonder what other talents we will see emerging over the next few weeks…

Our year 5 and 6 classes have just returned from their residential trip to Plas Nantglyn. The children stayed in a beautiful 16th century country home with specially converted buildings, spacious playing fields, woods and a mountain stream situated in the heart of rural North Wales. The children found skills that they didn’t know they had through team building challenges and had great fun on their numerous excursions.
We can’t wait to hear all the stories from the children and staff. click on the link to view more pictures.

SPORTS RELIEF – We have been having a wonderful time today…raising money, having fun and keeping fit!!! Ask your child all about the teachers ‘step-up’ competition in assembly this morning, the planking competition between Ms Dempsey and Mrs Tyler and the race between Mrs Richards and Mr Riley! The children have also been learning all about the real difference their fundraising makes to the lives of others around the world – check out the Sports Relief webpage for more information.

In honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Brigid’s (accompanied by St. Albert’s Primary) held a procession in St. Albert’s Church. We prayed to Mary the Mother of Jesus and we crowned her statue with a beautiful crown. The children and staff then lay beautiful flowers as part of the procession.
“She looked so beautiful.” (Year 1 pupil)
